Keeping our focus…

By Suzan Fields 7-22-2018

Do you ever find yourself going along in life and feel as tho you have jazz hands, or that your world is spinning rapidly and feels like a tornado of fury? It makes me think of life as driving…whether it be a car or a motorcycle…still works the same. We have to keep our eyes focused on what’s ahead of us and where we are going in order to safely stay the course of the path. If even just for just a brief moment we allow ourselves to lose focus, we can find ourselves veering off into destruction. Sometimes in the midst of it all we try to fix it ourselves and over correct into another path of destruction. Keep in mind a moment of lost focus doesn’t have to destroy us to the point of no return. We simply must eliminate our distractions and realign our focus on God. Distractions can sneak in and sometimes we don’t even realize they have creeped in and thrown us off. Distractions can be many things including fear, pain or anxiety, just to name a few. Sometimes it’s not until the repercussions come that we realize our focus has been off. When we focus on God the scene changes. He is in control of our lives. Even when we make mistakes or deliberately make bad choices, God can redeem us. Fix your eyes on Him.

Father, I know I fail you daily, and I have times when I lose my focus on You. Please help me to keep my eyes steadily focused on You, and when I stumble please help me to realign my eyes upon You and use those experiences to become closer and stronger with You. I ask this in Jesus Holy name, Amen.

“My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:21-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
